A number of people have been getting a little worried about final grades, so I thought I would give you an extra credit assignment or two.
Do any or all of these, and earn EXTRA CREDIT!!
(1) Choose one of these sentences and diagram it. (Do both for extra, extra credit!)
The project that we're working on concerns drought-cycles in the high plains region of North America, where the average precipitation per year is less than ten inches.
Agricultural commodities in these states have included wool and grain, though to raise grain in this dry region requires intensive irrigation
(2) Find a sentence of your own which is at least twelve words long and diagram it.
(3) Choose a grammatical error or a grammatical subtopic and write a 200-500 word paper that explains it. For instance, you could write a paper about passive verbs -- what they are, how they're formed, how you can tell a passive from an active, when to use them, like that. Or you could write about that-clauses. Or you could write about comma splices. If you have a topic and you're not sure, check with me.
